Maria Jacketti, CEO of Mountain Laurel Copywriting and Content Creation will take workshop participants through the basics of writing web copy and creating press releases. Jacketti will teach participants how to create tone and the appropriate writing style specific for the audience for each project. She will underscore the fact that good writers must become chameleons, continuously adapting to the needs of diverse audiences and projects.

Broad Street in West Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by Fyzical Therapy & Balance Center and it is open for any woman to attend. Our guest speaker is Julie Burger, Sales Manager for Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram at Berger Family Dealerships.She will present on what women should know when it comes to the basics of car maintenance and service and tips and tricks that can use when purchasing or leasing a vehicle.
Dooprize drawings including, a free lunch for the next program and the opportunity to give an introduction of your business at the event will be drawn. Women are encouraged to bring along promotional items, such as business cards, brochures, giveaways, etc. to display on our business resource table.

The Downtown Hazleton Farmer's Market will kick off its sixth year this Friday, July 14th and continue every Friday through September 1st. The market hours are 10 am to 2 pm. The market will take place at the corner of Broad and Laurel Streets along the new city park.
This year’s vendors include Burger’s Farm Market, offering fresh produce along with their famous sweet corn; Sugar & Loaf Bakery, offering homemade breads and other baked goods, Keiner’s Nursery & Apiary, offering plants, locally produced honey, and other honey-made products; and the Butler Township Community Garden (“Growing Markets” program), offering all organic produce. Other vendors include the PSU Master Gardeners, who will be on hand to answer all your gardening questions. Several special events are also planned, including free cooking demonstrations featuring local seasonal produce (hosted by the Commission on Economic Opportunity-CEO), as well as entertainment and guest vendors who will be offering special services.
Friday will feature a special kickoff for market and will include DJ Tony Pacelli, who will be spinning tunes from 11 am to 1:30 pm for your lunchtime enjoyment. A ribbon cutting will take place at 10 am with Hazleton Mayor Jeff Cusat in order to celebrate the market opening. The Chamber of Commerce operates the market with the support of the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking committee is currently seeking applications for the tenth annual Women’s Empowerment Grant. This grant was established to encourage women to pursue training or education that will help them start or advance a career. The target of the grant is women who are: currently working and want to advance in their career through education or training; returning to the workforce; and/or seeking to change their current career path and pursue something more in line with their
interests or passions. The grant is also intended to be available to those who would not necessarily have access to scholarships or grants. For this reason, graduating high school students will not be eligible to apply for the grant.
