Officials coordinating the Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2023 have announced that the event, scheduled for Thursday, March 23rd has 18 businesses participating to date and there is space remaining for additional businesses.
These businesses and institutions will be on hand to provide educational, career and employment opportunities for those in attendance. Local and regional businesses have signed up to participate in the one-day event, which will take place at the Laurel Mall in Hazleton.
Employers seeking to locate full, part time, temporary or summer workers will be on hand to promote their opportunities. The job fair is free to anyone seeking new or improved employment opportunities. The businesses and organizations slated to participate to date in this year's event include:

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their second woman’s networking luncheon program for 2023 Tuesday, February 28th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Edgewood located at 22 Edgewood Lane in Drums. The event is being sponsored by Geisinger and it is open for any woman to attend.
The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a lunch buffet. Our guest speaker is George Ruiz, MD, Board Certified Cardiologist for Geisinger. Dr. Ruiz will present on Heart Health in honor of February being American Heart Month. Everyone is encouraged to wear red to the program!
George Ruiz, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who cares for men and women. He specializes in general heart care including treatment for heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart disease and heart disease in pregnancy.
He has a clinical interest in treating heart failure and managing ventricular assist devices. “I love getting people back to who they were and coaching them to re-connect with their goals,” he says. “Heart failure routinely limits patients — I get excited when we can give patients back what heart failure has taken from them. It’s inspiring to see patients reclaim their lives.” He adds, “There’s something magical about a second chance. I always wanted to be part of team that made second chances possible.”

Chamber members, their employees, co-workers and guests are encouraged to attend the Chamber’s networking mixer next week. Immanuel Christian School is hosting the event on Thursday, February 16th from 5 pm to 7 pm in their brand new location High School space, which is the entire Mezzanine level of the former HNB building in the heart of Downtown Hazleton, on the corner of Broad & Laurel Streets, 101 W. Broad Street, Suite M, Hazleton.
Attendees will enjoy a casual, after-hours event, networking with the business community of Greater Hazleton Chamber! Enjoy hors d’ oeuvres and beverages provided by The Poppy Press. Everyone is encouraged to bring along their business cards to distribute to their fellow Chamber members. And a doorprize drawing will also take place.

The City of Hazleton Drop the Drugs van will be parked outside the PA Theatre of Performing Arts PTPA, 212 W Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton tomorrow morning (Wednesday, January 25th) from 7 am to 9 am, during our Chamber January Red Carpet Breakfast program where Mayor Cusat will be our main event speaker.
The Drop the Drugs van is a mobile drug drop-off location to help keep excess and unwanted prescription drugs out of the hands of our children. This service is open anyone.
