The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking committee has recently awarded their twelfth annual Women’s Empowerment Grants. This grant was established to encourage women to pursue training or education that will help them start or advance a career. The target of the grant is women who are currently working and want to advance in their career through education or training; are returning to the workforce; or are seeking to change their current career path.
“The applications we received this year were all outstanding and we truly feel the recipients for this year’s grants will be empowered by receiving the assistance these grants are able to provide.” explains Leann Fallabel, Chamber VP of Marketing and Woman’s Networking Committee Coordinator.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their fifth in a series of woman’s networking luncheon programs for 2019, Tuesday, September 24th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Angelo’s Italian House in Hazleton. The event is open for any woman to attend.
The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include lunch. The guest speaker Mike Jesky, Executive Creative Director for Dekka Studios presenting on Go Google Yourself!

A fall indoor/outdoor Chamber Networking mixer is taking place on Tuesday, September 17th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Providence Place Senior Community located at 149 S. Hunter Highway, Route 309 in Drums. Chamber members can invite their employees, co-workers and guests to the event, which is free to attend and offers a casual, after-hours networking opportunity for the business community.
Attendees will enjoy heavy hors d' oeuvres, cocktails & more, as well as an opportunity to meet the Providence Place team, take a facility tour and enjoy the fall ambiance on their beautiful outdoor deck. Everyone is encouraged to bring along their business cards to be entered into several doorprize drawings.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for their 18th Annual Business & Community Awards. The awards are given each year in order to recognize individuals and businesses, which help to promote and support the Greater Hazleton Area.
Nominations are being accepted for: Small Business of the Year; Large Business of the Year, Rocco Colangelo Volunteer of the Year, Pride of Place, Healthy Workplace of the Year, Green Business of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
A business or individual may be nominated for an award or they can nominate themselves. Once the nomination is received by the Chamber, the nominee will be notified and asked to complete an official application. The applications are reviewed and scored by a volunteer committee, and all winners will be recognized at a special luncheon program, sponsored by Community Bank, N.A., to be held on Thursday, October 24th at 11:45 am Four Blooms Restaurant in Drums.
