124 local and regional golfers will tee off at 11:00 AM tomorrow, August 15th for the 52nd Annual Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing. The shotgun start tournament is scheduled to take place at 11 am at Split Rock Golf Club in Lake Harmony, with registration beginning at 9:30 am, and will feature trophies, prizes and awards.
The tournament will begin with registration, coffee & donuts, and $5k putting contest qualifications at 9:30 am. Food and drinks are provided throughout the day, as well as an on-course expo. A cocktail hour and hors d’ oeuvres as well as a full course dinner and awards program will take place following the round of play.
Championship, first and second flight awards will be given. A closest to the pin, closet to the pin - second shot on the green and a men’s and women’s longest drive will also be presented. A Pot of Gold contest will be conducted and hole in one contests will take place featuring a $5,000 cash prize and more.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber will be hosting an August Red Carpet in our legislative series. The newly drawn legislative map that started on January 1st, 2019 has parts of the Greater Hazleton Area in the 9th Congressional District. Congressman Meuser will discuss legislation affecting the Greater Hazleton area community. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program is sponsored by Mauch Chunk Trust Company, and will take place on Thursday, August 29th at Capriotti’s, One Banks Avenue in McAdoo.
The program will begin at 7:45 am and conclude at 9:00 am. A full breakfast will be served and the cost to attend is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-chamber members. The Red Carpet programs are conducted monthly by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce as a way of providing information to the local business community and offers new and expanded business networking opportunities. We are happy to welcome the Congressman and hear about his plans and what is happening in the Washington. D.C. Those in attendance will also be introduced to the services that the event sponsor, Mauch Chunk Trust offers prior to Congressman Meuser’s address. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the business card drop for a chance to win a free breakfast.
A special summer Chamber Networking mixer is taking place on Thursday, July 25th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Cafe Fraiche, located inside Elevate Fitness & Wellness Center, 780 N. Church STreet in Hazleton. Chamber members can invite their employees, co-workers and guests to the event, which is free to attend and offers a casual, after-hours networking opportunity for the business community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the team at Cafe Fraiche, check out their beauitful space and enjoy a summer evening on their beautiful outdoor patio, while tasting some delicious menu items!

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their fourth in a series of woman’s networking luncheon programs for 2018 Tuesday, July 30th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Ovalon Restaurant located at 252 N. Wyoming Street in West Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by M&T Bank and it is open for any woman to attend.
The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include lunch. Our guest speaker is Tammy Rodgers, Education Specialist at Domestic Violence Service Center who will present on Domestic Violence in the Workplace. Domestic violence has no boundaries. Tammy will discuss domestic violence and how it affects workplace issues through performance, loss of jobs, coming to the workplace and the workplace community.
