The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is holding their second woman in business luncheon program for 2024 on Tuesday, March 26TH from 12 noon to 1 pm at Damon’s Restaurant on Route 93 Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by Silver Pines Treatment Center and it is open for any woman to attend.
The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include lunch. Our guest speaker will be Bill Stegura, CRS, CFRS, Peer Recovery Specialist from Recovery Friendly Workplace – PA. He will present, What is the Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative & How It Improves Community, Businesses & Employees. Attendees will learn how this initiative is designed to help employers of ALL TYPES become more supportive of employees who are seeking recovery from substance use and mental health disorders. The RFW initiative is completely free to employers and can save thousands in costs each year, which is money that can be reinvested back into the community.
Everyone will enjoy lunch, a 50/50 raffle and doorprize drawings. Attendees are encouraged to bring your business cards, brochures, coupons or giveaways to share on our "Business Resource Table".
Additional luncheon programs for the remainder of the year have been set for Tuesdays, May 21st; July 30th, September 24th; and November 19th.

Roxie Rose is the owner of Powder & Ink Permanent Cosmetics and Tattoo Studio which is located in the CAN BE Incubator in West Hazleton.
Ms. Rose has lived in the Greater Hazleton area most of her life. She graduated from Hazleton Area High School in 2010 and then graduated from college in 2013.

Today we are featuring Kelly King, Executive Center Director for BOTH the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums AND the Red Rock Job Corps Center in Sullivan County.
Ms. King has dedicated her career to the students at the Job Corp! She is only one of three female Executive Center Directors for the Job Corp nationwide and she is the ONLY Executive Center Director that covers two campuses! Her commitment to the students and staff is unmatched!
The KJCC is celebrating their 60th anniversary this year! Did you know that for the first three years of their existence they only accepted women in to the program? And in the early 70's they were the first center, nationwide, to accept women into the construction and trades programs! Currently they offer 23 trades to their students between the two campuses.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present the next Red Carpet Breakfast for 2024 on Thursday, March 28, 2024 State Representative , will update the business community on things happenings in Harrisburg including update on budget discussions and legislation he has sponsored. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program will take place at Edgewood by Sand Spring at 22 Edgewood Lane in Drums, PA.
The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming program for a $25 fee for chamber members and a $30 fee for non-chamber members. Chamber members and guests who would like to attend should contact the chamber office at 570-455-1509, ext. 101 or register online at hazletonchamber.org no later than Monday, March 25th.

It is important to hear how current legislation will impact our area as well as to give him feedback on what is happening in our business community. ,” noted Mary Malone, President of the Hazleton Chamber. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce as a way of providing information to the local business community as well as offering new and expanded business networking opportunities conducts the Red Carpet programs monthly. Those in attendance will also be updated by Alana Roberts of PPL who is the sponsor of the event. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the business card drop for a chance to win a free breakfast.
