The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great American Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 22nd. If volunteer groups cannot pick up on the 22nd, they can gather either on Friday the 21st or Sunday the 23rd. Groups are asked to leave bags along the cleaup route and PennDOT and local municipatlies will pick up the bags on Monday, April 24th. Garbage bags, safety vests, gloves a certificate of particpation and some goodies are provided to all the volunteer groups and can be picked up at the Chamber office from 8 am to 5 pm the week of April 17th.
"The Great American Cleanup" is a statewide effort designed to encourage concerned citizens and groups to participate in a meaningful community beautification effort. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is the local coordinator for the Greater Hazleton Area.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is hosting their 11th Annual Ladies Night Out and all women from throughout the Greater Hazleton Area are invited to attend. The event, sponsored by Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton and Capriotti’s, will take place on Wednesday, April 5th from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Capriotti’s in McAdoo.
“The theme of the evening is networking, relaxation, shopping & self-indulgence, and we are inviting all women to attend this fun-filled, popular, one-night event”, explains Chamber Vice President of Marketing, Leann Fallabel.
Thirty businesses are taking part and they will be displaying their products and services, offering cash and carry items, providing demonstrations, offering samples of services, providing giveaways, coupons and much more.

Greater Hazleton Area residents looking for new and/or improved employment opportunities are invited to take part in Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2017, the twenty-first annual free employment exposition taking place Thurday, March 30th at Genetti Ballroooms Route 309 in Hazleton from 10 am to 4 pm.
Firms participating in Job Fair 2017 will be on hand to locate full, part-time, temporary or summer workers and to promote various educational and career opportunities. Job seekers are encouraged to attend the fair prepared to complete applications and/or with resumes in-hand.

Community Reading Day helps to promote literacy and encourage life-long reading and imagination with our next generation. That’s the message the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is sending through its partnership in the 21st annual Community Reading Day program, supported by Penn State Hazleton. This event will be held on April 27th beginning at 9:30 a.m. in first and second grade classrooms in the Hazleton Area School District, Holy Family Academy and chamber member preschools. The chamber organizes this annual event as part of their ongoing efforts to encourage business/education partnerships.
