Summer Networking Mixer Slated for July 30th

Chamber members, their employees, co-workers and guests are invited to enjoy a casual, after-hours event, networking with the business community of Greater Hazleton!

The summer networking mixer will be hosted by Sacco Chiropractic and Vito’s Landscaping Inc on Wednesday, July 30th from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Attendees will enjoy lite music, food, and drinks, and learn about the services from Sacco Chiropractic AND Vito's Landscaping. Sacco Chiropractic will highlight workplace safety and show how they can get on your workers' comp panel, to get your employees back to work faster with chiropractic care. Vito’s Lawn Care & Landscaping will feature their commercial property services to help you and your employees avoid accidents or injury from the perspective of a lawyer who is their new company President.

Luzerne County Community College President John Yudichak to Speak on June 19th at Red Carpet Breakfast

The Greater Hazleton Chamber is announcing the next program in our Red Carpet series for 2025 on Thursday, June 19th^h John Yudichak the President of Luzerne County Community will update the business community on the exciting projects and happening at the college as he reaches his one year anniversary at the eight President. . Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program will take place at Valley Country Club located at 79 Country Club Road, Sugarloaf PA 18249

The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming program for a $28 fee for chamber members and a $32 fee for non-chamber members. Chamber members and guests who would like to attend should contact the chamber office at 570-455-1509, ext. 101 or register online at hazletonchamber.org no later than Monday, June 16th.

The President’s Budget Request released this month includes a proposal to eliminate the Job Corps program. If enacted by Congress, this would result in the closure of the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums, PA.

Each year, the Keystone Job Corps Center provides education, vocational training, and career readiness support across eight in-demand career areas—including the construction, medical training, and service industries—to approximately 600 young adults. Many of these students come from across northeastern Pennsylvania to transform their lives and launch their careers locally—something some of you have likely seen firsthand through your work with the Center.

Since 2023, more than 4,267 Pennsylvania residents have enrolled in Job Corps programs.

I’m reaching out in support of the Keystone Job Corps campus and in opposition to the President’s fiscal year 2026 budget proposal to eliminate Job Corps and the recent halt on required background checks for prospective students that has left over 12,000 young men and women in limbo and their careers on hold.

I respectfully request that you reach out to the U.S. Department of Labor and White House immediately and demand they resume enrollments and continue to fund Job Corps.
