The Greater Hazleton Chamber is pleased to present another elected official in our Red Carpet Breakfast series for 2024 on Tuesday, October 29th: State Representative Dane Watro who serves the 116th legislative District that covers a good portion of the Greater Hazleton Area.
Representative Watro will update the business community on things happening in Harrisburg and its local impact. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. This breakfast program will take place at Top of the Eighties Restaurant, located at 3 Top of the Eighties Road. This event is sponsored by Blaise Alexander of Greater Hazleton and the team will have some fun things for participants and updates on happenings on the Hazleton lots.
The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming program for a $25 fee for chamber members and a $30 fee for non-chamber members. Chamber members and guests who would like to attend should contact the chamber office at 570-455-1509, ext. 101 or register online at hazletonchamber.org no later than Thursday, October 24th.
“Representative Watro has had a busy year working with citizens and municipalities of the 116th district. The opportunity for direct dialogue with our State Representative and his staff is important to continue progress forward,” noted Mary Malone, President of the Hazleton Chamber. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce conducts the Red Carpet programs monthly as a way of providing information to the local business community as well as offering new and expanded business networking opportunities. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the business card drop for a chance to win a free breakfast.
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of their Annual 2024 Business and Community Awards. In an attempt to help promote October as “Chamber of Commerce” month, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will hold a special awards luncheon, sponsored by Community Bank, NA, to recognize the winners of the awards. The luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 24th at 11:45 am at Sand Springs Country Club in Drums. The cost of the luncheon is $32 per person. Members of The Hazleton Innovation Collaborative (THInC): CAN DO, Inc., the CAN BE Innovation Center, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, the Hazleton LaunchBox supported by Pasco L. Schiavo, Esq., and the Small Business Development Center at Wilkes University (Wilkes University SBDC), will be hosting an in-person seminar, “The First Step Express: How to Start and Finance Your Business,” on Tuesday, October 16, at 6 PM at the Hazleton LaunchBox located at 13 West Broad Street.
This no-cost, one-hour seminar is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs navigate the initial stages of starting and financing a business. Attendees will gain valuable insight into essential topics such as business structures, licensing, financing options, business plans, and financial projections. The event will also offer a Q&A session where participants can ask specific questions and receive personalized advice from business experts.
