Schiavo, Esq., and the Small Business Development Center at Wilkes University (Wilkes University SBDC), will be hosting an in-person seminar, “The First Step Express: How to Start and Finance Your Business,” on Tuesday, October 16, at 6 PM at the Hazleton LaunchBox located at 13 West Broad Street.

This no-cost, one-hour seminar is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs navigate the initial stages of starting and financing a business. Attendees will gain valuable insight into essential topics such as business structures, licensing, financing options, business plans, and financial projections. The event will also offer a Q&A session where participants can ask specific questions and receive personalized advice from business experts.

“Whether you're in the early stages of exploring your business idea or looking to take the first formal steps toward launching, we want to ensure that aspiring entrepreneurs within our community have access to the proper resources, guidance and support,” said Lucy Singer, Business Consultant for the Small Business Development Center at Wilkes University. “It's been our goal for over 45 years to foster a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout Greater Hazleton, and this seminar is a continuation of that effort."

Representatives from the Wilkes University SBDC, CAN DO, CAN BE, Launchbox, and the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to guide attendees through the critical steps needed to turn a business idea into a reality.

“This seminar is an excellent opportunity for anyone in the Greater Hazleton area that is considering starting a business,” said Nico Makuta, CAN DO Business Financing Specialist. “We want to give aspiring entrepreneurs the tools and knowledge they need to not only start their business, but to succeed in moving it forward.”

Space is limited to 50 participants, so interested individuals are encouraged to register early. The registration deadline is noon on the day of the event.
