The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their fifth woman’s networking luncheon program for 2024 Tuesday, September 24th from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Brass Buckle Restaurant in Conyngham. The event is being sponsored by Revive Med Spa at Eye Care Specialists in Hazleton and is open for any woman to attend.
The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a buffet lunch. The guest speakers from Revive Med Spa are Tricia Turner, Revive Manager and. They will present Med Med Spa 101 and discuss services that are offered at a medical spa, how you know what treatment is right for you and what works best for your skin type and/or age. Attendees will learn about services including HydraFacials, Spa Facials, Dermplaning, Chemical Peels, Botox & Fillers, Blepharoplasty, Broad Band Light Treatments, CO2 Laser Resurfacing, Microneedling, LED Light Treatment, Anti-Aging Skin Care Programs, Lash Extensions, Lash & Lift Tint, LATISSE, UPNEEQ, Brow Lamination & Tint, Waxing, Skin Consultations.
Dooprize drawings including, a free lunch for the next program and the opportunity to give an introduction of your business at the event will be drawn. Women are encouraged to bring along promotional items, such as business cards, brochures, giveaways, etc. to display on our business resource table.
The final luncheon program for 2024 will then take place on Tuesday, November 19th.
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is now seeking nominations for their 24th Annual Business & Community Awards. The awards are given each year in order to recognize individuals and businesses, which help to promote and support the Greater Hazleton Area.
Nominations are being accepted for: Small Business of the Year; Large Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Pride of Place, Charitable Organization of the Year, Healthy Workplace of the Year, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
A business or individual may be nominated for an award or they can nominate themselves. Once the nomination is received by the Chamber, the nominee will be notified and asked to complete an official application. The applications are reviewed and scored by a volunteer committee, and all winners will be recognized at a special luncheon program, sponsored by Community Bank, N.A., to be held on Thursday, October 24th at 11:45 am Sand Springs Country Club in Drums.

The team comprised of players from White Birch Golf Course, Bob Gorski, Randy Kurzinsky, Bobby Hillibush and Hayden Jones took the Chamber’s Championship flight award during the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce 57nd Annual Golf Tournament held Thursday, August 15th at Sugarloaf Golf Course in Sugarloaf.
152 golfers took part in the tournament which featured trophies, prizes and awards.
Other winners included first flight winners representing Wendy’s Restaurant included Marybeth Hayden, Alicia Hayden, John Spevak and Scott Burkhardt. Second Flight Winners representing Edgewood included Joe Jajewski, Josh Flaim, Zane Writer and Mike Sist. Men’s Longest Drive was won by Joe Gomba; Women’s Longest Drive was won by Denise Kaschak; Closest to the Pin was won by Mike Yemola and Closest to the Pin Second Shot on the Green was won by Mike Dimare. A cash consollation prize was given to Tim Bodman who putted his way to the final $5,000 putt attempt.

Chamber members, their employees, co-workers and guests are invited to attend an exclusive Networking Mixer co-hosted by the United Way of Greater Hazleton and Catholic Social Services. Attend this after-hours event with the business community which is taking place on Thursday, September 5th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Catholic Social Services Family Service Center located at 106 S. Church Street in Downtown Hazleton.
United Way of Greater Hazleton will celebrate the kickoff to their Annual Campaign. There will be lots to celebrate because in addition to kicking off the campaign its International Day of Charity AND National Pizza Day. Enjoy pizza including a taste of a variety of Hazleton's best along with a little bit of competition to see if you can guess where the pizza samples are from. And of course some refreshing beverages to wash it down with.
In addition the winner of the 3 minute shopping spree and $300 gift card courtesy of Boyer's Food Market of Hazleton will be announced. The raffle benefited the United Way of Greater Hazleton.
Catholic Social Services will discuss programs they have available for the community and United Way will highlight all their agencies.
