The Community Awareness Committee of the Greater Hazleton of Commerce invites the public to attend the 9th Annual Tastes of Greater Hazleton, which will be held Sunday, October 16th from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm at the Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton located on 50 Moisey Drive in Hazle Township.
Event coordinators have announced that three cooking demonstrations will take place at the event and they will be provided by the Brass Buckle, Sand Springs Country Club and Top of the 80s Restaurant
According to Anna Jean Onuschak of Top of the 80s Restaurant, event chairwoman, “We are thrilled to feature these three very talented, local chefs and restaurant owners at our event. The attendees really look forward to seeing what they have to prepare and then having the chance to sample their dishes”
The event will feature a sampling of signature dishes and products from eighteen participating restaurants and businesses from throughout Greater Hazleton. Restaurants and their menus include:
Brass Buckle Restaurant offering Morocco shrimp tacos; Booty’s Place offering penne with vodka sauce, chicken parm and stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat; Carmen's Bakery & Deli offering magic squares; Carmen’s Country Inn & Gardens offering late summer tomato brochette on artisan bread, Coffee Service providing regular & decaffeinated coffee; Cinema & Drafthouse offering cheesesteaks; Edgewood by Sand Springs offering Italian fried meatballs, Giant Foods offering mini quiche, chicken/broccoli and cheese poppers and fruit nectar; Genetti Catering offering scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon; McDonald's providing orange drink; Sand Springs Country Club offering beef tips in burgundy sauce; Simply Homebrew offering peach apricot chardonnay and strawberry reisling; The Pines Eatery & Spirits offering pork bbq sandwiches; Theodora’s Restaurant offering New England clam chowder and smoked BBQ beef brisket sliders; Top of the 80’s offering bacon and brown sugar Brussel sprouts, beef short rib pot pie and apple cinnamon and walnut bread pudding with a carmel bourbon sauce; T. Verrastro Beer Distributor Inc providing seasonal and artisan craft beer and water; Valley Country Club offering penne with vodka sauce; Victoria’s Candies Inc providing assorted chocolate candies and The Whipped Sweet Shoppe offering mini cupcakes.
Tickets are $18.00 in advance can be purchased online anytime prior to the day of event at www.hazletonchamber.org, click on calendar of events and find the event. Or in person at either the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce office which is located at 20 West Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton, the Standard Speaker which is located at 21 N. Wyoming Street in Downtown Hazleton, or Carmen’s Bakery & Deli, located at 37 E. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton up until Friday, October 14th.
Tickets will include a sample from each of the participating restaurants and enter you for a chance to win tons of doorprizes.
Doorprizes have been donated by participating restaurants and a grand prize, will be provided by T. Verrastro Beer Distributor.

All proceeds from this event will benefit community projects coordinated by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce.
