The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free informational session for businesses to take advantage of on the free programs and services the American Lung Association provides to the business community, on Tuesday, March 7th.
This is an exclusive opportunity to sit down with a local and regional representative from the American Lung Association and learn about the programs and services they offer and how your business and employers may benefit by utilizing these free, readily available resources.
Topics will cover Tobacco Cessation Program: ALA’s signature program for smoking cessation is Freedom From Smoking. This program can be conducted at work sites for employees and/or community members and can be offered in-person or as an online program; The regional tobacco free coalition with volunteer opportunities: Coalition membership is open to concerned citizens as well as employees and businesses who share in our dedication to saving lives by eliminating tobacco use and tobacco-related lung disease throughout the Northeast region of Pennsylvania; Adult and Youth Resources:
- References on the following topics: Cessation, prevention, advocacy/policy, Clean Indoor Air Act, Outdoor policy such as Young Lungs at Play, Smoke-
free Multi-Unit Housing, Better Breather’s Club, Asthma Management; and Prevention Youth Programming: Advocacy and policy.
Attendees are asked to bring a lunch and the Chamber will provide the beverages. The free, informational session takes place on Tuesday, March 7th from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce office, 20 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton.
