The Luzerne County Chambers of Commerce, PA CareerLink Luzerne County, and Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania are partnering to provide a free opportunity for businesses looking to hire in Luzerne County through the Luzerne County Recovery Job Fair, which will take place on a virtual platform on December 15^th. This opportunity is made possible through funding from the CARES Act to assist businesses during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the economic effects of COVID-19, the goal of this initiative is to provide a safe alternative to a traditional in-person job fair to allow all Luzerne County businesses the opportunity to promote their job openings to displaced workers in our region.

This event will be held virtually through the state of the art vFairs event platform and feature an interactive virtual environment, where employers and candidates can meet, network, and schedule interviews with interested candidates directly on the platform. The program allows job seekers to navigate a “virtual floor” and visit with employers. Employers can use self-service tools to design their booths and showcase their brand identity and culture, to ensure maximum engagement and interactions with talented job seekers. PA Careerlink Luzerne County will offer virtual resources and education for job seekers at the virtual fair. Participating companies will also have the ability to partner with Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania in the future to build a strong workforce pipeline for our area’s students.
