The Luzerne County Recovery Job Fair is a free opportunity targeted towards any workers who are currently seeking full or part-time employment opportunities within Luzerne County, especially those who have been displaced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the economic effects of COVID-19, the goal of this initiative is to provide a safe alternative to a traditional in-person job fair to allow job seekers to connect with potential employers on a virtual platform.

This event will be held virtually through the state of the art vFairs event platform and feature an interactive virtual environment, where employers and candidates can meet, network, and schedule interviews with interested candidates directly on the platform. The program allows job seekers to navigate a “virtual floor” and visit with employers. During the event, the PA CareerLink® Luzerne County will offer virtual resources and educational webinar sessions throughout the day for participating job seekers. Webinar topics include: Job Searching During COVID-19, Networking to Find a Job, and Building and Maintaining a LinkedIn Profile.

We have also partnered with local organizations who can provide on-site assistance prior to the event and on the day of the event. On-site locations to sign up and access the online portal for the event will also be available at publicly-accessible locations in Luzerne County, including: The Osterhout Free Library, Dress for Success Luzerne County, New Roots Hazleton Office, and Up Steps. The Luzerne County Chambers of Commerce, PA CareerLink® Luzerne County, and Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania are partnering to provide this free opportunity for job seekers in Luzerne County through the Luzerne County Recovery Job Fair.
