The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering an informational session, which will be presented by the Hazleton Careerlink on the Benefits of Hiring Heroes. The session will be held via zoom on Wednesday, March 29^th from 1 pm to 1:45 pm.

David Broadwell, Local Veterans Employment Representative from the Hazleton Careerlink will present and he encourages all employers to attend whether or not they are

currently hiring. This information can be stored in your human resource recruitment toolbox and it is an excellent program to become familiar with.

The session will review you how your company will benefit by hiring a Veteran. They will cover the intangible and tangible benefits of hiring a veteran (solid work ethic, tax benefits, etc); Current veteran employment outlook; Background on PA CareerLink’s advocacy for veterans; The US Government has enacted laws to assist with the hiring of veterans. These laws provide for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to provide specialized assistance in getting veterans connected with employers seeking a unique caliber of worker. Discuss the services of the Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist (DVOP).
