The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering a program entitled Coronavirus Continuity Plan Tuesday, March 24th.
The coronavirus outbreak may have originated in China, but it has developed into not only a global health crisis but is also proving to be a business challenge for myriads of U.S. companies that are located in affected areas, or supply chain disruptions. In fact, a World Health Organization has declared coronavirus an epidemic and international public health emergency, and less than half the companies in the world have any business continuity plans in place to deal with emergencies such as the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering a seminar entitled Business Succession Planning next Wednesday, March 18th.
This program will walk business owners through some of the concerns they may have in planning for the continuation or disposition of their business interests and estate taxes. And will also look at some of the things that might be considered to alleviate business owners concerns. Particular topics discussed include: types of assets and property, forms of businesses and tax implications, valuing your business, buy-sell agreements and wills, trusts and gifts.
The seminar will take place on Wednesday, March 18th from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce office, located at 8 W. Broad Street, Mezzanine Level, in Downtown Hazleton. It is being presented by Laura Sullivan and Chris Crosley, Financial Service Professionals for MassMutual Eastern Pennsylvania. Registration is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non Chamber members. Event Will Feature a Do It Yourself Workshop
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee invites all women from throughout Greater Hazleton to celebrate International Women’s Day next Wednesday, March 18th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Smith Floral Company, located at 555 N. Broad Street in West Hazleton. The event will feature networking, hors d’ oeuvres, beverages, and a Do It Yourself Workshop including a take-home colorful spring flower arrangement!
Gather your employees, co-workers, friends and guests. A door prize drawing and a 50/50 raffle will take place to benefit our Women's Empowerment Grant. Everyone is also encouraged to bring your business cards, brochures, coupons or giveaways to share on our "Business Resource Table".

Continuing with the chamber’s legislative series, PA Representative Gerald Mullery, representing the 119th Legislative District will address the business community on Thursday, March 12th at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program. The Representative will discuss, the Governor 2020-2021 budget recently released as well as legislation impacting our area. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of his presentation. The breakfast program is sponsored by AmeriHealth Caritas, and will take place at Edgewood by Sand Springs at 22 Edgewood Lane, Drums PA 18222
The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming breakfast program for a $20 fee for chamber members and a $25 fee for non-chamber members.
