Community Reading DayCommunity Reading Day helps to promote literacy and encourage life-long reading and imagination with our next generation. That’s the message the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is sending through its partnership in the 21st annual Community Reading Day program, supported by Penn State Hazleton. This event will be held on April 27th beginning at 9:30 a.m. in first and second grade classrooms in the Hazleton Area School District, Holy Family Academy and chamber member preschools. The chamber organizes this annual event as part of their ongoing efforts to encourage business/education partnerships.

March Women's LuncheonThe Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is holding their second in a series of woman’s networking luncheon programs for 2017 Tuesday, March 28th from 12 noon to 1 pm at Damon’s Sports Bar & Grill in Hazleton. The event is being sponsored by Lawn Specialties and it is open for any woman to attend.

The program will begin promptly at 12 noon and will include a buffet style lunch. Our guest speaker is Cindy Milan-Ortiz from Woodforest National Bank and she will be presenting on The Difference Between a Manager and Leader and How to Keep Your Team Motivated.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce is offering a seminar entitled Spanish Language Sales Power: Don't Let Your Business Get Lost in the Translation on Wednesday, March 29th.

Maria Jacketti, CEO of Mountain Laurel Copywriting and Content Creation will teach business professionals how translating their business ads and other business materials into Spanish can widen the reach of their business/organization. They will learn how to tap into the Spanish-speaking market sooner - rather than later, and reap the benefits.
