PA State Representative Tarah Toohil to Speak at Chamber Breakfast
Continuing with the chamber’s legislative series, PA State Rep. Tarah Toohil, representing the 116th Legislative District will address the business community on Thursday, May 4th at the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Red Carpet Breakfast program. She will discuss some of the legislation she’s been working on affecting the Greater Hazleton area community. Attendees will also have the opportunity for a question and answer session at the end of her presentation. The breakfast program is sponsored by St. Luke Village, and will take place at Edgewood by Sand Springs, 22 Edgewood Lane, Drums.
The program will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:00 a.m. A full breakfast will be served at the upcoming breakfast program for a $20 fee for chamber members and a $25 fee for non-chamber members. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will once again sponsor the "Great American Cleanup” campaign. The one-day cleanup will be conducted Saturday, April 22nd. If volunteer groups cannot pick up on the 22nd, they can gather either on Friday the 21st or Sunday the 23rd. Groups are asked to leave bags along the cleaup route and PennDOT and local municipatlies will pick up the bags on Monday, April 24th. Garbage bags, safety vests, gloves a certificate of particpation and some goodies are provided to all the volunteer groups and can be picked up at the Chamber office from 8 am to 5 pm the week of April 17th.
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Women’s Networking Committee is hosting their 11th Annual Ladies Night Out and all women from throughout the Greater Hazleton Area are invited to attend. The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has announced plans are underway for their 125th Anniversary and Executive Business Exposition, which is taking place on Thursday, May 18th at Genetti Ballrooms in Hazleton from 5 pm to 8 pm. Officials coordinating the Greater Hazleton Job Fair 2017 have announced that the event, scheduled for Thursday, March 30th has 34 businesses participating to date and there is limited space remaining for additional businesses.

The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Human Resource Committee has announced their Eleventh Annual Human Resource Seminar. This half day seminar consists of three sessions, two of which are breakout sessions where attendees can choose from two topics going on simultaneously, a keynote speaker, breakfast and lunch. This seminar is geared toward anyone in the human resource field, as well as small to mid-size business owners or anyone else who is interested in learning more about the topics being offered. The seminar is scheduled to take place on Thursday June 2nd on the 4th Floor of the Hazleton Campus of Luzerne County Community College located at 100 W. Broad Street in Downtown Hazleton. This event will be held on April 28th beginning at 9:30 a.m. in first and second grade classrooms in the Hazleton Area School District, Holy Family Academy and chamber member preschools.
