Winners Announced for Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Business & Community Awards
The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of their Annual 2018 Business and Community Awards. In an attempt to help promote October as “Chamber of Commerce” month, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce will hold a special awards luncheon, sponsored by Community Bank, NA, to recognize the winners of the awards. The luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 25th at 11:45 am at Sand Springs Country Club in Drums. The cost of the luncheon is $25 per person. Reservations are required by Monday, October 22nd by registering online, calling the Chamber at 455-1509 or emailing .
Winning the 2018 Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by the 2006 recipient, Comfort Keepers is Sand Springs Country Club. The purpose of the award is to show appreciation and recognition to a small business in the Greater Hazleton Area and promote the importance of small businesses to the economy and welfare of the entire community. Eligible applicants included any Chamber member business that has no more than 50 full-time employees and is located in the Greater Hazleton area. Judging was based on staying power, growth, community contribution, and overall management philosophy.

The purpose of the award is to show appreciation and recognition to a large business in the Greater Hazleton and promote the importance of large businesses to the economy and welfare of the community. Judging was based on staying power, growth, community contribution, and overall management philosophy.

The rescheduled 2018 Downtown Hazleton Classic Car Cruise-In will take place this Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. The NEW location will in two parking lots in downtown Hazleton. Only a few openings remain for the 51st Annual Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing which will take place on Thursday, August 16th. The shotgun start tournament is scheduled to take place at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville at 11 am. Registration begins at 9 am.
The 2018 Downtown Hazleton Classic Car Cruise-In will take place in Downtown Hazleton on Friday, August 3rd (rain date August 10th) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Cruise-In, coordinated by the Downtown Committee of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, is sponsored by Hazleton Auto Trades Association. “The Hazleton Auto Trades Association is excited to partner with the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce for this year’s car cruise” stated Matt DePrimo of Barber Ford, president of the association. “Together the association members have had over 250 years of membership with the chamber. We understand the importance of a strong chamber in our community and look forward to the opportunity to bring a family friendly event that also represents a chance for us to showcase our individual businesses. Ting will discuss hearing loss and dementia. Both hearing loss and dementia have been linked in numerous studies.
